Opening: Rhythm, Rhyme and Harmony – KMAA Exhibition 2023
May 14 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
“Music creates order out of chaos, for rhythm imposes unanimity upon
the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony
imposes compatibility upon the incongruous.”
– Yehudi Menuhin
Harmony, balance, rhythm, and repetition, lyricism, notes of warm and cool, repetition, mark making, and movement. From classical to contemporary, from abstract to surrealism, artists and musicians have shared many aspects of the creative process. This exhibition calls for works that may be inspired by music or by any of these compatible or incongruous elements.
