Hispanic Dance & Music – Family Friendly Free Show

Hispanic Dance & Music – Family Friendly Free Show

Bethany Arts Community is proud to announce the first of many Hispanic Dance and Music programs we’ll be bringing to the region. Join us for a family friendly presentation of rhythm and culture featuring two diverse groups of artists. This event brings you innovative Flamenco dance led by the award-winning Rebeca Tomás and modern Colombian music by world-renowned Folklore Urbano. These artists have performed in venues around the world and are excited to be sharing their talents with their Hudson Valley neighbors. The energy they bring to our performance space will get your hands clapping and your feet stomping, and make it hard to stay in your seats!

We are also delighted to announce that, soon after these artists are done entertaining you, they’ll be sharing their skills with our youngest neighbors. Both groups will be teaching Bethany’s first children’s programs offered to students of the Ossining School District. This is just the start of Bethany’s Hispanic Dance & Music program. Look out for more performances and classes in the future!

Pros(e) of Pie – True Storytelling

Prose of Pie has been the Hudson Valley’s most popular monthly storytelling series for nearly 5 years. Our January show was such a hit that in April we’re returning to the new Bethany Arts Community. Once again, we’re filling their former chapel with a range of true human experiences. The evening will feature renowned storytellers and rising locals sharing their tales on this month’s theme: Course Correction.

You can sit back and enjoy the show or join the fun: sign up for a 5-mins open mic slot or submit an anonymous answer to a written prompt. Either way, we’ll all be there to support and share.

ABOUT THE THEME: There are times when you have to accept that it’s time to make a move. Did you set off the wrong foot? Did life throw too many obstacles in your path? Sometimes the best laid plans just aren’t meant to be. Or, were you on the wrong road along and finally making a change for the better? Did you drag your feet too long before doing what you knew had to be? Did you make the leap eagerly or go kicking and screaming? Life, love, family, therapy. This month, we’re sharing all your stories of change, whether or not your were ready for them.
