Location: Hudson Valley Books for Humanity, 67 Central Ave, Ossining, NY 10562

Join BAC and community partner, Hudson Valley Books for Humanity, in a FREE reading & conversation with BAC Resident Mika Taylor who will be reading from her novel-in-progress “Quintland” for her community program! Conversation to follow.

“Quintland” is work of historical fiction following the lives of the Dionne Quintuplets—five girls born to farmers in northern Ontario during the Great Depression. The fact of their birth was a medical miracle that became a media sensation. Under the government’s protection, the girls were made into an exhibit and revenue stream for the province. They were raised in a hospital where the only people they knew were doctors, nurses, and each other. Structured as a collective memoir, five women retell the highs and lows of their shared childhood, and how they grew into the resilient women they’d become.

Registration encouraged, walk-ins welcome!

This event is a Fall Multidisciplinary Residency Community Program. As part of a residency at BAC, we ask each artist to build and facilitate a Community Program. Community Programs are a unique opportunity for both artists-in-residence and our local community to gather, engage, and be in conversation with one another through art. Community Programs are free engagements open to the public and/or in collaboration with a local community partner.
