Plaster in Mosaics Workshop

In this fun 2 day workshop, students learn the technique of incorporating plaster into their mosaic work. Plaster surfaces create a unique contrast from surrounding materials in texture and a wide variety of color. Its application can range from a portion of the subject (i.e., the face of a figure) to a background element. Students create multiple pieces using plaster with smalti and other studio elements to learn necessary steps and techniques of pouring, pigmenting, painting and the proper treatment of the plaster in this process. All materials are included.
