5 sessions include 4 group sessions plus a 5th one-on-one session. No prior experience required. Class limited to 15. 18 years & older.

Oral storytelling has become a contemporary art form, where storytellers craft true, first-person, contemporary stories and perform them live, without notes, in front of an audience. This course will teach you the art of first-person, oral storytelling. We will cover the basics of what makes a great story, you will mine your life for authentic material, and we will develop your stories into short “performance pieces” to be shared with an audience. You will receive coaching on delivery and performance of the story, including how the audience or recipient shapes the storytelling experience.

Dates

5 Sessions: 9/23, 9/30, 10/7 and 10/14, plus a 1-on-1 session rehearsal/coaching session week of 10/14. Students will have an opportunity to perform their stories at a class performance on 10/21
