Large Scale Mosaic Workshop

The Chicago Mosaic School brings large scale mosaics to BAC! Take part in creating and installing a community mosaic during this 5 day workshop. Large scale outdoor mosaics can be made well and durably by learning professional approaches in this 5 day intensive, hands on workshop. Students will learn the skills/techniques for creating a sustainable large-scale outdoor mosaic using direct method. The workshop includes a complete overview of materials, techniques, and hands-on experience that will guide students through each stage of the process- from design, creation, and installation of a mosaic mural onto an exterior brick wall. Subjects discussed include sustainability, design, substrate and material selection and preparation, mosaic creation, installation, and documentation. This is a must-do workshop for students wanting to dive in to larger works.
