The Parkinson’s dance class is based on the internationally acclaimed Dance for PD program, a collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group. Our teachers are professional dancers trained in the Dance for PD® method. Weekly classes present movement sequences drawn from ballet, jazz, modern dance, musical theater, folk dance, tap, improvisation, and social dancing to create a dynamic and enjoyable hour of dance and a social experience. Classes address PD specific concerns: balance, coordination, flexibility, gait, fluidity of movement, and physical confidence while simultaneously tapping creativity.
