Enjoy a dynamic and fun hour of dance and artistic exploration in a group setting! Join our FREE movement class based on the internationally acclaimed Mark Morris Group Dance for PD program with our teachers who are professionally trained in the Dance for PD Method. Come solo or bring a partner, friend or caregiver. No dance experience necessary. Stand up or sit down as you like.

The Parkinson’s dance class is based on the internationally acclaimed Dance for PD program, a collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group. Our teachers are professional dancers trained in the Dance for PD® method. Weekly classes present movement sequences drawn from ballet, jazz, modern dance, musical theater, folk dance, tap, improvisation, and social dancing to create a dynamic and enjoyable hour of dance and a social experience. Classes address PD specific concerns: balance, coordination, flexibility, gait, fluidity of movement, and physical confidence while simultaneously tapping creativity.

This program is brought to you by ArtsWestchester, the Morris & Alma Schapiro Fund, and the Carvel Foundation.
