Calling all people interested in exploring movement to music!
Llamando a cualquier persona interesada en explorar el movimiento con musica! 

Ana Sofia Reynoso is a Mexican dancer, choreographer and teaching artist who works between Mexico City and New York. People of all ages and experience levels with dance are invited to come take a master class with her and then learn an excerpt of her latest creation that she is working on while in residency here at Bethany Arts Community IN Ossining! 

Finally end the class by watching her perform the work-in-process she has created. 

Ana Sofia Reynoso es una bailarina, coreógrafa y maestra Mexicana que trabaja entre la Ciudad de México y Nueva York. Gente de todas las edades y niveles de experiencia con la danza están invitados a tomar una clase con ella y aprender un excerpto de un trabajo de su último trabajo que está creando aquí en Bethany Arts Community EN Ossining! Al final de la clase acabarán viendo a ella bailar el trabajo en que está en el proceso de crear ahorita! 

Her experience of working through the Ailey organization in the Arts in Education program with students ranging in ages 3-95 years old makes her confident in following the philosophy of Alvin Ailey that “Dance is for the people, from the people.” Meaning dance is for everybody, of all bodies, abilities and ages. Come experience the freedom and satisfaction of moving to music and exploring your own imagination! 

 Su experiencia trabajando con la organización de Ailey en el departamento de Arts in Education le ha dejado trabajar con estudiantes entre las edades 5-95. Este trabajo le da confianza que puede seguir la filosofía de Alvin Ailey que “La danza para la gente, de la gente.” Mas bien dicho accesible y para gente de todo tipo de cuerpo, habilidad y edad! 

Ven a sentir la libertad y satisfacción de sentir moverse en univision a la música y explorar tu imaginación!

About Ana Sofia
Ana Sofia Reynoso is a dancer, movement director, writer and composer. Raised in various parts of both rural and urban Mexico by a visual artist and musician filled family; Ana Sofia aspires to merge those early childhood influences to create work that help the viewer see the beauty in the mundane, the natural and deliver her personal belief that the dancer defines the space. Currently Ana Sofia is working on exploring site specific work and the concept of what fearless devotion truly means. She hopes that simultaneously she can convey that she is pursuing an intentional, conscious cultivation of her art.

This event is a Fall Multidisciplinary Residency Community Program. As part of a residency at BAC, we ask each artist to build and facilitate a Community Program. Community Programs are a unique opportunity for both artists-in-residence and our local community to gather, engage, and be in conversation with one another through art. Community Programs are free engagements open to the public and/or in collaboration with a local community partner.
