Let us come together and create in the name of green life. Join BAC Artist-in-Residence Rita Mookerjee at Hudson Valley Books for Humanity for This Little Glade: Sharing Plants, Poetry, and Rooted Power.

In this intersectional writing event, we will draw upon the power of rhizomes and root systems to enrich our writing processes with the knowledge and language of plants. Using contemporary feminist poetics, we will analyze plants as metaphors and as powerful centers of adaptation and renewal.

Rita will close the session with a reading from her second collection, Banana Heart. You will leave with new writing, a cutting/seeds, and intimate knowledge of plant magic.

Bring with you a notebook, your favorite writing utensil, and a plant cutting or seeds to exchange.

Community Programs are free engagements open to the public and/or in collaboration with a local community partners.
