Join us this summer for Bethany Kids CREATE Camp to explore the boundless limits of artistic expression. Each day campers will participate in music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and multidisciplinary art activities. A core element of CREATE will be a community art project in which campers will work together to build SOMETHING based on the group’s unique interests and curiosities. Campers will embark on a nature adventure each day to engage with the natural environment at Bethany and use outside the box thinking (literally!) to make art. Come CREATE with us!

Campers bring nut-free snack, water bottle, and nut-free lunch that will be refrigerated.

Cumbia for Kids Music Program

Cumbia for Kids Music Program

CUMBIA FOR KIDS is a music program that introduces 3rd graders to Colombian music, culture, and dance.

During 8 weekly workshops, students will learn about the diverse music and dance traditions, instruments, and culture of Colombia’s four geographic regions from the cowboy music of the Llanos Orientales to the African rhythms of the Pacific Coast. Children also learn about the geography, clothes, food, history, and customs of Colombia’s diverse regions. The program is designed to prepare students to enter the stage for a fully-choreographed show where kids sing, dance, and drum along with professional members of Folklore Urbano. Performances will be scheduled mid-way and after the final class. The program is presented by world-renowned Folklore Urbano. Pablo and Anna Mayor lead the musical portion of the program, teaching kids basic drum patterns and Spanish language through song.

Dancer/choreographer Daniel Fetecua leads kids in dance and creative movement inspired by Colombia’s diverse dance traditions.

Dates: 8 Fridays : April 20 – June 8
Time:
