Introduction to Digital Photography with Alan Haywood

Students must have a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, batteries, memory card, card reader and charger. Camera must have manual settings capability. Bring camera manual. A computer with photo editing software such as Photoshop or Lightroom is a plus.
This course is for students who are beginning or intermediate photographers, who want to learn or review how to control their cameras with manual and auto settings and improve their creative photographic eye. A brief history of photography and photographers will be discussed. There will be instruction on light and composition, perspective, file formats, resolution and use of lenses. Students will learn how to set up their camera menu, and understand the basic camera functions of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure, depth of field and metering, etc. Basic computer photo editing skills will be introduced.
